IT Help Desk Analyst at American Pest

Hi, I'm Collin.

I make sure a team's technology just works: the right people have the right access, problems get fixed for good, and the systems behind it all stay secure, so everyone else can focus on their actual jobs.

Who I am

An IT generalist who likes getting to the bottom of things.

I've spent more than five years in IT and worked every layer of it, from answering the first call to running the systems as an administrator. Today I'm on the IT team at American Pest, supporting more than 450 employees with everything from laptops and phones to Microsoft 365 accounts and access.

What I enjoy most is the moment a confusing problem finally makes sense, and making sure it never comes back. I'm happiest when the people I support barely have to think about IT at all.

What I do

Four things I'm good at.

Keep people working

Fast, friendly support from the first ticket to the trickiest escalation, whether that's in person, on the phone or remote.

Get access right

New hires ready on day one, departures fully closed out, and permissions that match the job across Active Directory and Microsoft 365.

Keep threats out

Security policies, patched and encrypted devices, and quick responses when a phishing email or suspicious alert shows up.

Make fixes stick

Finding the root cause, writing it down, and automating what I can, so the same problem doesn't become next week's ticket.

How I work

A few things you can count on.

  • I follow it through.A ticket isn't done until the person on the other end is back to work.
  • I write things down.Good documentation is how one fix helps everyone, and how the next person isn't starting from zero.
  • I keep learning. From Windows Server and Entra ID to PowerShell scripting, I'm always sharpening the tools I use every day.
